About Mayweather
American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather was born on Feb. 24, 1977 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He won three national Golden Gloves and a bronze medal in the 1996 Olympics. He became a professional boxer on October 11, 1996. As a pro, Mayweather continued to win at an astonishing rate. With his father serving as both manager and trainer, he won several easy bouts during his first two years, which he capped off by capturing his first world title, the WBC junior lightweight championship.
His career greatly accelerated even more beginning in 2000, when Mayweather embarked on a seven-year stretch that had many fight fans talking about him as one of the sport's all-time greats. By 2007, he was considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and had 38 undefeated bouts, including Oscar De La Hoya for the WBC super welterweight crown. His success garnered increased earnings. In 2010 he was the third highest-paid American athlete, with income of more than $60 million for the year.

On July 28th, Guerrero put out one his most impressive performance to date when he moved up two weight classes and defeated the former unbeaten Turkish fighter Selcuk Aydin who was also an Olympian. He became the second Mexican-America fighter to win a world title in four divisions, the other being future Hall of Famer, Oscar Delahoya. He also became only the third fighter in history to win a Featherweight and Welterweight world title other than the great Henry Armstrong and future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao.
In the most anticipated sports event of 2013, Robert Guerrero will now fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4, 2013 Cinco de Mayo weekend, the most celebrated in boxing. The fight will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV televised live to millions around the world on Showtime PPV.
